USTA Official Recertification

Dear USTA Official,

The education requirements for all USTA Certified Officials who are seeking recertification for 2018 have been approved by the Officials Committee.  There is an increased emphasis on education and ALL USTA Certified Officials (except Provisionals) are now required to complete both the Roving 1 course and the new Roving 2 course plus any new education course specifically offered for the officiating discipline. Further details are listed below.

The Chair Umpire Level 1, Line Umpire Level 1, Roving Umpire Level 2 and Referee Level 2 courses are now available on the USTA Officiating Online Learning Center (click here).  All Officials seeking re-certification for 2018 must complete all the required courses (see the chart below) by Wednesday, November 1, 2017.

The education requirements to obtain a 2018 Certification are as follows:

  • The videos and some of the animations within the courses are not compatible with Mozilla Firefox.  Not being able to play the videos will prevent you from advancing through the course. In order to advance through the courses, you must click on every click-able feature on each slide.
